NeuroActive

I have had the privilege of working with this amazing charity since 2019, offering massage therapy and emotional support to clients and staff alike. This place never feels like work, but like being part of a huge loving family. Here is a little bit about what they do.

NeuroActive are an incredible charity that are supporting people with neurological conditions, brain injuries, and strokes to maintain independence, build confidence, and reduce social isolation. They offer clients a welcoming and friendly atmosphere where they can maintain, and hopefully improve, their mobility, strength, language and social skills and access crucial peer support from those in similar situations.

The staff also continue to inform and promote the understanding of brain injury, providing talks to organisations and businesses.

Daily activity sessions consist of a range of light exercises and sporting activities to suit the individual needs of clients. Neuro-physiotherapy, massage therapy, personal training, music therapy and crafts help clients to reach their recovery goals. They also offer sport such as badminton, table tennis, football, and even adapted surfing and climbing trips. Everything is adapted to suit our clients needs. They have a range of specialist and gym equipment including motormeds, exercise bikes, recumbent exercise bikes, treadmills and other specialist machinery. Clients can also take part in various arts and craft activities, play games which help to improve cognition and learn to cook as part of their Independent Living programme.
Most importantly clients can socialise in a safe environment with people who understand their situation.

If you know of anyone who would benefit from support from an organisation like this, or would like to know more about how I can support you or a loved one following a stroke or brain injury, please get in touch.
